NEW DELHI, Jan 1: In a bid to curb crime against women in the national capital, the country’s first integrated mobile application – Himmat was launched here today. Home Minister Rajnath Singh launched the android application at a ceremony here in the presence of Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung.
Delhi Police Commissioner B S Bassi was also present. “The ‘Himmat’ application will strengthen women safety. This smart phone-based application can alert the police in the hour of need by either shaking the phone or pressing the power button twice,” the Police Commissioner said. Mr Bassi said, “It is directly linked to the Police Control Room.”
