JAMMU, Nov 9: On the 5th day of six days Vertical Interaction Course on “Tactical Preparedness for Counter Terrorism”, which was started in Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur, a number of guest speakers of top echelons visited this police institution and delivered valuable lectures.
K Rajindra Kumar, ADGP Law and Order and Armed delivered lecture on the topic “civil disturbances in terrorist affected areas”. He elaborated on the causes and measures for controlling the civil disturbances. He also made the officers aware of the latest strategies adopted by the separatists, vested interests and quoted the recent examples of Amarnath land row, Shopian murder case and Machail encounter in triggering civil disturbances.
He also gave an in-depth study of the civil action programmes initiated by the J&K Police in reducing the gap with the members of the civil society.
Thereafter, one lecture was delivered by L S Bal, DIG BSF on the topic “border management”. He specifically stressed about the problems faced by the country in the process of demarcation of Indo-Pak boundaries, the creation of Border Security Force, its aims and roles, challenges faced by this organization after independence, the structure of Border Security Force and its role during the peace and war situations.
Later, a practical demonstration on the latest techniques adopted by BSF to fight terrorism especially room/building intervention were shown to the participants during their visit to BSF Centre.
