JAMMU, July 3: MLA Rajesh Gupta inaugurated the annual bhandara for the Amaranth pilgrims at Aggarwal Sabha today.
Mahant Rameshwar Dass Ji and SDM Jammu North Piyush Goyal were also present on the occasion.
President of the Aggarwal Sabha Dewan Chand Bansal was also present on the occasion led the guests for the traditional lighting of lamps. Prasad was distributed among the visitors and pilgrims on the occasion.
Rajesh Gupta while speaking on the occasion complimented the Aggarwal Sabha for arranging the annual bhandara at the time of Amarnath Yatra every year in order to cater to the needs of the visiting Sadhus and pilgrims.
The visiting dignitaries were pleased to learn that five hundred pilgrims and Sadhus would be accommodated in the Aggarwal Sabha free of cost during the course of the yatra on a daily basis.
For the convenience of the yatris the services of continuous langar and running cold water round the clock has been arranged at the Sabha premises. A free dispensary would also cater to the needs of the yatris all the time.
Rajesh Gupta said that the Amarnath yatra is a landmark event in the calendar of the State. This year the yatra coincides with the holy month of Ramzan signifying the fundamental unity of all religions and the message of peace and brotherhood for our countrymen.
