Rajendra visits South Kashmir, reviews security scenario

SRINAGAR, June 7: The Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar today stressed for close coordination among all security agencies for maintaining continuous vigil on the activities of anti-national elements to foil their nefarious designs. He said that people’s cooperation and greater synergy among the agencies is must for achieving the desired results.
Mr Rajendra was chairing a high level security review meeting at District Police Lines Anantnag.
Addressing the meeting Rajendra said that safety and security of the people is our prime concern and efforts of the anti-national elements to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere of State would be curbed firmly. He stressed upon the officers to maintain close coordination with their ranks and strengthen relations with the people to achieve better results.
The DGP said that wholehearted cooperation of the people with the forces has helped in maintaining the sustained peace and these relations should be strengthened at all levels to foil the ill designs of law breakers. Community policing at the grass root level would enhance the police public relations and a patient hearing to their grievances would pay dividends by result oriented policing.
The meeting also discussed investigation of cases and security of panchs and surpanchs in South Kashmir. The DGP emphasised on making necessary arrangements to ensure sense of security among the panchs and surpanchs. He said that effective domination in area based on analysis is required and joint patrolling should be intensified to keep the activities of suspicious elements under surveillance.
Referring to the criminal activities, the DGP asked the officers for crime mapping with intent to establish pattern and factors of crime, which could lead to identify the criminals.
During the meeting arrangements for Amarnath Yatra were also discussed. It was told that all arrangements with regard to security, deployment of manpower, communication network and traffic management have been chalked out in coordination among all security agencies. Rajendra asked the officers to conduct joint meetings and maintain coordination to make yatra a success.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Inspectors General of Police, S. M. Sahai, Dr. B. Srinivas and B. N. Romesh, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Vijay Kumar, Sr. Superintendents of Police, Amit Kumar and R. K. Jalla, Superintendents of Police, Abdul Jabbar, Mohammad Shafi Mir, Mumtaz Ahmed, Abdul Waheed Shah and Javid Hassan Bhat, Commandants of CRPF battalions of South Kashmir and other police officers.
