Rajendra reviews progress on police construction works

SRINAGAR, Feb 7:  Reviewing the pace of progress on re-construction of flood damaged police infrastructure in the Valley, the Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar has stressed upon the officers and the executing agencies to complete the works and restore their functioning in full form.
Mr. Rajendra was addressing officers meeting at Police Control Room (PCR) here today. The meeting was convened by the DGP after his on spot inspection of various ongoing construction works in the Valley. He emphasised for coordination among the officers and executing agencies to rebuild the damaged infrastructure within the stipulated period so that police working is restored to its full swing and people get required services from the department.
He said that the floods devastated infrastructure of the Organization at a large, affecting our normal working due to damages caused to communication network, mobility, building infrastructure and software. By undertaking tireless efforts, the Organization restored its working with some alternative arrangements and remained on forefront for the assistance of the people, he disclosed.
Mr. Rajendra disclosed that soon after the flood waters receded, the department undertook restoration work on war footing basis and the major damaged constructions are being rebuild to enhance our performance in public service. He said that despite damages to the personal belongings of our jawans and officers they remained engaged in their professional policing and the department is focussing on priority to restore living facilities for its personnel.
Earlier, the DGP commissioned new wet canteen “Khean Chean” in PCR premises. The food joint has been built on modern lines with required facilities and would serve traditional foods to the personnel. SSP PCR, Mir Imtiyaz Hussain briefed the DGP about the facilities and items made available in the Food Joint.
