SRINAGAR, July 7: Director General of Police (DGP), K Rajendra Kumar today said that Jammu and Kashmir Police Housing Corporation (PHC) plays an important role to strengthen the infrastructure in the organization and also provide services to other State departments.
Speaking at the Board of Directors meeting (BoDs), held at police headquarters here today, Mr. Rajendra appreciated the role of PHC, for taking efficient efforts to strengthen building infrastructure and other components under the modernization scheme of Police Organization. He said that JKP has launched a mega construction programme to strengthen its components and enhance living and working facilities of its jawans and officers. Various buildings, barracks and alternate accommodations were constructed at various locations across the State to accommodate the personnel, said Mr Rajendra.
DGP said that during past some years, a huge building infrastructure has been raised in all the districts of the State and many construction works are under execution which would house the police offices including headquarters of different wings and armed battalions.
Earlier Managing Director, PHC, Dilbag Singh briefed the meeting about the salient features of the agenda points. The meeting discussed various agenda points with regard to execution of projects thread bare and gave not to many projects after detailed deliberations, while some issues were decided to be taken up in the next meeting of the BoDs.
This was the 33rd meeting of BoDs which discussed various projects and Administrative issues of the Corporation. The meeting was apprised by MD PHC about the works undertaken by the Corporation in the State during the year 2014-15. He said that the Corporation executed various projects of the Organization and is enjoying strong professional reputation for its work. Besides police organization, many other Government departments are reposing faith in our competence and allocating execution of works of their respective departments. These proposed projects were also discussed in the meeting.
Mr Rajendra asked the officers to work collectively and strengthen the image of the Corporation. He said that timely completion of projects and use of quality material in the execution should remain a priority to gain more reputation. He said that the Corporation since its inception in 1997 had executed various projects of Police Organization and it was due to their dedication and transparency that other departments are approaching for execution of their works.
The meeting was attended by other board members including, IGP Kashmir Zone, SJM Gillani, IGP, Jammu Zone, Danish Rana, Chief Engineer PWD Kashmir, Satesh Razdan, SE, PHC, Sudhir Shah, Chief Town Planner Jammu Joginder Singh and FA PHC Anil Kumar Dogra.
