KATHUA Sep 9: In a major breakthrough, police team of Police Station, Rajbagh led by Inspector, Devinder Singh on a tip off tracked poppy straw smuggling and seized one truck bearing Registration No. JK02V-1596 on a checkpoint in Rajbagh area and recovered 5.35 quintals of Poppy Straw inside the truck which was coming from Kashmir.
Police arrested the accused driver and his associate namely Mohd Iqbal, S/o Ali Mohd and Ajay Kumar S/o Gian Chand respectively. The consignment of poppy straw has been seized in case FIR No 217/18 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act against both the accused. Further investigation into the case is going on.
