KATHUA, Oct 16: Rajbagh Police today apprehended two drug peddlers with 8 kgs of poppy straw.
A police party of Police Station Rajbagh while on naka duty intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK08C-3958. During search 8 kilograms poppy straw was recovered from the toolbox of truck. Both the driver and other person on the truck were arrested by the police party.
The driver disclosed his identity as Rampaul S/o Ronak Chand R/o Dhanni Rajbagh Kathua and other person as Kalu Din S/o Bhagga Din, R/o Dubwal Kathua. A case FIR No. 201/17 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered against them and further investigation started.
The drive against the drug peddlers was launched under the supervision of SDPO Border Ravel Choudhary, Additional SP, Sanjay Parihar and overall under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, Suleman Chowdhary.
