NEW DELHI, May 5: Minister of State for Hospitality and Protocol, Vikar Rasool Wani directed the Resident Commissioner J&K New Delhi to expedite the recruitment process for the Class IV posts so as to fill the posts which shall be completed within a period of 3 months in accordance with the prevailing recruitment rules and stressed for conducting the long pending Departmental Promotion Committee meeting.
The Minister was reviewing the overall functioning of the Resident Commission J&K New Delhi including associated guest houses at Delhi, Amritsar, Chandigarh and Mumbai, Sirsa (Haryana) here today.
The Minister was apprised through a power point presentation about the properties owned by the State Government at Delhi, Chandigarh, Amritsar and Mumbai viz landed property at New Delhi (5-Prithviraj Road) comprises of total (41 Kanals), properties at Delhi (Chanakyapuri) comprises of about 12 kanals. Properties at Delhi (Rajaji Marg) comprises of land measuring 114 kanals 11.2 marlas, most of which is on lease to the Ministry of Defence. However, 18 quarters were retrieved from the Army, which are utilized by Commissions’ staff for residential purposes.
The Minister assured that the vacation of land at Rajaji Marg will be facilitated by taking up the matter with the Defence Ministry very soon. An area measuring about two acre comprising old structures is with the State Government. There were unauthorized Jhuggies, dhabas and tea stalls, which were removed in 2011, after concluding the proceedings under P.P. Act. Separately, there is another piece of land (about 1 kanal) with CPWD, on which 5 quarters were constructed by them.
The Minister was further informed that properties at Amritsar is located at 2 – Court Road, spread over an area of 19 Kanals, besides the State Government possesses land (measuring 32 kanals 9 marlas) at Tapai Road. The landed properties at Chandigarh comprises of an area of 7K-10.6M in addition to this the Government possesses a commercial building at Sector 17 (Area : 1K-6.8 M), which comprises of 4 floors and a basement. This premise is on rental basis with the Ministry of Labour, Govt of India, which pays a monthly rent of Rs. 1.08 lakh.
While discussing the State Government properties at Mumbai the details were given by JRC Mumbai that the office is located in a showroom popularly known as Chinar Complex at World Trade Centre, Cuffe Parade. (9.8M).
The area comprises of 1761 Sft on the ground floor and approximately 800 Sft on the mezzanine floor. In addition, land measuring 9K12M at Napean Sea Road (Now called 19-LD, Ruparel Marg) is on lease with M/s Sanghvi Construction Company, Mumbai since June 1, 1991 for a period of 90 years.
While discussing the up gradation and renovation works of all the guest houses at Delhi, Amritsar, Chandigarh and Mumbai along with residential accommodation the Minister directed the concerned to complete the renovation at the earliest, however the renovation work under process at Mumbai should be completed by July 15, 2013.
Later, the Minister took the round of all blocks of Chankyapuri guest house and issued on spot directions for upgradation of the infrastructure. He also stressed for judicious use of funds being utilized for maintenance and renovation of the guest house.
