SRINAGAR, Mar 4: There were intermittent rains in the Valley and light snowfall in the hills of Kashmir with gusty winds blowing during the day.
A Meteorological department official had forecast intermittent rains in parts of Valley and light snowfall in the hills during the afternoon. However, the weather later improved towards evening.
“It is likely to be partly to generally cloudy during next 24 hours with appreciable rise expected in day temperature. Clear weather is expected from March 5-12,” he added.
In the meantime, Srinagar recorded a low of 6.4°C against 6.6°C the previous night and it was above normal by 4.2°C for the city.
Qazigund recorded a low of 4.2°C against 5.6°C the previous night and it was 3.3°C above normal for the town.
Pahalgam recorded a low of 1.2°C against 1.7°C the previous night and it was 3.5°C above normal for the famous tourist resort.
Kokernag recorded a low of 4.7°C against 4.8°C the previous night and it was 3.8°C above normal for the place.
Gulmarg recorded a low of minus 1.0°C against minus 0.6°C the previous night and it was 4.2°C above normal for skiing resort.
In Kupwara town, the mercury settled at 4.2°C, the same as the previous night and it was 3.2°C above normal for the town.
Ladakh’s Leh and Kargil recorded a low of minus 2.8°C and minus 4.6°C respectively.
