DODA, Mar 4: Forest officials here today seized illegal timber along with vehicle in Chiralla Range of Bhadarwah Forest Division.
Range Officer Chiralla, Shaper Iqbal received specific information regarding illegal transportation of timber in Bhella area of Chiralla Range after which he along with his team including Nadeem Nazir, I/C Block Officer Chiralla-2nd; Aejaz Hussain Zargar, I/C Forest Prosecuting Officer; Mohd Ashraf, Beat Guard Bhella and Mohd Ashraf, Chowkidar laid a Naka and intercepted a load carrier vehicle bearing registration number JK06B-4698 coming from village Thalella towards Bhella.
The team asked the driver to stop the vehicle but instead of stopping he fled from the spot.
Range Officer along with the team chased and stopped the vehicle after 1.5 km but the driver along with other offenders fled away from the spot taking advantage of darkness.
The Range Officer along with his team took the vehicle and timber into custody and made a proper seizure memo and shifted the vehicle to Forest Division Bhadarwah.
In this connection a case has been registered at Chiralla Range and manhunt has been started to nab the offenders.
