Rains lash Valley, snowfall in hills

SRINAGAR, Mar 2: Upper reaches of Kashmir including Gulmarg received light snowfall while rains lashed the Valley today.
A Meteorological department official forecast intermittent snowfall on higher reaches and light rain in plains during the next 24 hours.
There was light rain across Kashmir valley today while the hills had light snowfall with Gulmarg receiving over one inch of snow.
In the meantime, Srinagar recorded a low of 7.0°C against 6.4°C the previous night and it was above normal by 4.8°C for the city.
Qazigund recorded a low of 5.5°C against 5.0°C the previous night and it was 4.6°C above normal for the town.
Pahalgam, recorded a low of 2.4°C against 0.6°C the previous night and it was 4.7°C above normal for the famous tourist resort.
Kokernag recorded a low of 5.0°C against 3.4°C the previous night and it was 4.1°C above normal for the place.
Gulmarg recorded a low of minus 0.6°C against minus 2.0°C the previous night and it was 3.9°C above normal for the skiing resort.
In Kupwara town, the mercury settled at 5.1°C against 4.2°C the previous night and it was 6.1°C above normal for the town.
Leh and Kargil recorded a low of minus 3.4°C respectively.
