Locals reported that the damage began on Saturday and worsened overnight due to continuous heavy rainfall, leading to further deterioration of the road conditions.
“The ground has sunk in at a spot on the road, damaging the blacktopping; it seems as if it was a landslide; the road is no longer motorable,” said a resident named Arsh.
As a precautionary measure, authorities have advised people to take alternate routes to reach their destinations.
Another local resident mentioned that approximately 10-15 feet of the road has been affected by the continuous rainfall, which has led the ground to slide.
“As of now, with the road unfit for use, people are taking different routes to their destinations, adding to the hardships.”
