Raining wealth on players

Sir,
The two girl athletes who made India proud namely P.V.Sindhu and Sakshi winning medals for India, made one thing sure that we did not return from Rio Olympic games event empty handed .Sindhu alone has been rewarded by the country , by different state governments, corporate bodies  etc so far  nearly Rs.23 crore in cash, SUVs, BMW( worth  Rs. 2 crore), government jobs, flats, plots, jewellery , gifts, and the like. Similar is the case of Sakshi ji winning a bronze for India , she too cannot keep the exact   count of the gifts and rewards mostly in cash and kind rained on her by the governments and people in India. On the other hand, our marathon runner O.P. Jaisha fainted at the event as no water was made available to her while performing in scorching heat at Rio. The half of as much  entire money and cost of flats, plots, luxury vehicles etc rained on the two players ,  by the same donors could have done wonders if spent on the training , the infrastructure and the facilities for both the coaches as well as the players. We could have won many yellow metal medals. Such a big country with so much of potential , especially the youth could have saved itself from the awkward position of not winning even one gold medal. Time to introspect and not keeping all attention focused on only cricket which is not recognized in Olympic games.
Yours etc….
