JAMMU, Feb 10: Former Member of Legislative Council and spokesman BJP, Girdhari Lal Raina has raised several issues concerning the displaced community and asked for some immediate redressal measures.
In a letter addressed to LG Manoj Sinha, G L Raina has said that the displaced community from Kashmir continues to hope that their long pending problems will be addressed soon, though the wait is getting a little longer than expected. Adding further that the delay is causing anxiety and disquiet among the people who have actively participated in bringing about the much required change in the Governance system in the country as well as in the UT of Jammu Kashmir.
Ex-MLC said that even if we leave long term issues like the setting up of a High Powered Commission of Enquiry and Return and Rehabilitation of the Displaced Community, the day to day problems faced by the community are not getting addressed. This should have been a routine administrative procedure. But insensitivity and apathetic approach continues to deliver a serious blow to the aspirations and poise of the community.
Raina identified accountability and transparency in the working of Relief Organisation, exclusion of the displaced community from benefits of Sehat Insurance Scheme which was undertaken with so much fanfare, temples and Shrines protection as issues that need immediate remedial measures.
