MBBS students donate 25 units of blood

JAMMU, Feb 10: A blood donation camp was organized by National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu in Blood Bank of the Institution.
A large number of students from MBBS first year donated blood for the pious cause. During the camp, 25 units of blood were donated by the students.
Students said they felt good after donating blood. As human beings we should always help each other by donating blood as blood donation is greatest of all donations, they asserted.
The blood donation camp was of particular importance keeping in view the fact that voluntary blood donations have gone down during COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr Shashi Sudhan Sharma, Principal GMC and AHs Jammu said that such camps will help in spreading the message of giving back to the society.
Dr Rajiv Kumar Gupta, Prof and Head PSM and Program Officer NSS said it’s our social as well as moral responsibility to donate blood in order to save precious lives. He said blood donation is an important part of the activities organized by NSS.
