JAMMU, Nov 4: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu & Kashmir today paid rich tributes to its senior party leader, Anil Parihar and his brother Ajit Parihar who were attained martyrdom at Kishtwar on November 1 at its State Headquarters, here.
BJP State president, Ravinder Raina (MLA) along with MP (Lok Sabha) Jugal Kishore Sharma, former Dy. CM and MLA Kavinder Gupta, former Minister and MLA, Sat Sharma, State general secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul, State general secretary, Dr. Narinder Singh, former Minister, MLA, Sham Choudhary, former Minister and MLA, Shakti Parihar, Ashok Khajuria, Ramesh Arora, (MLCs) Satish Sharma, Ashwani Chrungoo and Shreshta Jamwal expressed their grief and sorrow over the killings and paid glowing tributes to both the brothers.
Ravinder Raina, in his address, said “ our land has a rich history of sacrifices”. He said that Anil Parihar along with his companions worked in the region for the common masses in the most difficult times. He said that he was assigned different responsibilities in the party from time to time, which he fulfilled with utmost dedication. He said that the destiny had something else in store for him as he was the favourite child of Almighty and a great patriot for whom nothing was more dear than his motherland -India. He gave a supreme sacrifice to show the world that Indian’s can lay down their lives but not compromise on a single inch of land of their nation.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, in his address, said that nothing can replace the working of dedicated party workers of BJP, who have sacrificed their lives from time to time. He said that this tragic incident asks us to rebuilt our resolve to fight with the terrorists and their sympathizers with more strength and work on the mission of Parihar to pay true tributes to him.
Kavinder Gupta, said that “we have lost an age-old friend. He said that the dedicated worker has worked selflessly throughout his life for the region. He said that we have witnessed his contributions for nearly four decades in toughest conditions, but never heard any single complaint from him”, he added.
Ashok Kaul, said that “we have witnessed the ongoing struggle since 1947”. He stressed that the struggle was not only ideological but laid down their lives for the unity of the nation and State.
Sat Sharma and other leaders also paid tributes to departed souls. This was followed by floral tributes to departed leader. Yudhvir Sethi conducted the proceedings during the programme.
