Raina front-runner for BJP chief

JAMMU, May 3: BJP MLA from Nowshera, Ravinder Raina, who is known for his fire-brand approach, is front-runner for the post of BJP’s State unit president as only two names were under consideration of the party high command.
“Raina is front-runner for the coveted post though name of BJP general secretary, Dr Narinder Singh is also under consideration,” BJP insiders told the Excelsior.
BJP national president Amit Shah is likely to take call on the new president within the next few days.
Post of the BJP president will fall vacant as incumbent president Sat Sharma `CA’ has been inducted into the Council of Ministry as Housing and Urban Development Minister. As per the BJP norm of `one man one post’, Sat Sharma has offered to resign from the post. However, the BJP high command has asked Sharma to continue as the BJP chief till alternate arrangements are made.
Sources said Raina’s name was also discussed for induction in the Council of Ministry.  However, he was not inducted as the Minister as the party high command decided to utilise his services in the organisation.
