Raina elected president ASKPC

JAMMU, July 6: Senior vice president of All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) was today elected as the new president of the organization in its meeting here, today which was attended by the representatives of organization both from camps and non camp areas.
The post had fallen vacant after the sudden demise of H L Chatta its president last month. Being the senior most vice president of the organization and in view of his selfless services rendered to community since its mass exodus in 1990 the members unanimously elected Mr Raina as the new president of the organization.
Later Mr Raina announced his team by nominating Ravinder Raina advocate and Tej Krishan Jigyasoo as vice presidents. He also nominated Bharat Bushan Gosani as general secretary, Subash Chatta as secretary and B L Handoo as publicity secretary of the organisation.
Shiban Krishan Bhat was nominated as spokesman of the organization and Chand Ji Bhat as treasurer. B K Wantoo was nominated as chief organizer.
Mr Raina said that the members of the executive will be nominated soon.
He reiterated that the formal election of the organization for which process has been already started will be held in due course of time as for this the Constitution needs to be amended in view of the mass migration of the community.
Mr Raina however assured that the democratic character of the organization will be restored and prestige as front ranking organization of the community will be maintained at all costs.
