JAMMU, Mar 15: Rain, hail storm and strong winds affected normal life in many areas of Jammu region this evening.
The rain brought the temperature in the winter capital city considerably below as compared to the last couple of days. The people again wore some woolen clothes this evening with fall in temnperature, which they had stopped wearing after Holi.
The dark clouds, with thunder- storm were seen hovering over the sky in Jammu during this evening. It was followed by heavy rain for some time. It led to water logging at several low lying city areas and crossings.
Reports from hilly areas of Udhampur, Reasi, Katra, Jammu and parts of Kathua said that heavy downpour with light hail-storm at several places was witnessed during afternoon and evening. It also cause damage to fruit trees and vegetables crop. The reports of strong winds in parts of Udhampur, Ramban and Kathua were also received, however, no major loss of property was reported.
