NEW DELHI: In order to clear extra rush of pilgrims for Vaishnodevi shrine during this festive season, the Railways has started special AC trains service for Katra from the national capital.

The Old Delhi – Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra tri-weekly Suvidha AC Express special train will run till October 17 departing from Old Delhi station every Monday, Thursday and Saturday at 11.05 PM to reach Katra at 12.15 PM the next day.

In the return direction, the train will depart from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra on every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday at 2 PM to reach Old Delhi at 3.40 AM the next day, a release said.

Comprising 12 AC-3 and two second class-cum-luggage van coaches, the special train will stop at Panipat, Ambala, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Pathankot, Jammu and Udhampur stations en route in both the directions. (AGENCIES)
