JAMMU, Feb 25: Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) has described the Union Rail Budget as totally hollow for the J&K with nothing new for people of the State.
Reacting to the highlights of Rail Budgets, PCC chief spokesman Ravinder Sharma said that it has offered nothing new to the State, which is a matter of great concern and resentment as there were lot of hopes generated by the Modi Govt and BJP to the people of this sensitive and border State.
Regretting that the NDA Govt has totally ignored and neglected the genuine aspiration of the people of the State and more than one crore pilgrims and tourists visiting this State, the PCC member said that the initiatives of Congress led UPA for improving railway network and services to Jammu and Kashmir needed to be further strengthened and intensified more vigorously, which has not happened. The people of Poonch and Rajouri have also been disillusioned and neglected, totally in this budget, against false assurances and tall claims of BJP leaders to carry forwards the project conceived by the UPA at the cost of Rs 13,612 crore. He alleged that Modi Govt has shattered the hopes of the people of entire State.
