Rahul visiting Poonch tomorrow

JAMMU, Aug 24: All India Congress Committee (AICC) vice president Rahul Gandhi is visiting Balakote area near the Line of Control (LoC) in district Poonch on August 26 to meet Pakistani firing victims and their families.
PCC spokesman told the Excelsior that Rahul Gandhi would reach Jammu airport at around 9 am on Wednesday and will be received by PCC president G A Mir and other senior party leaders including former Ministers and legislators. From the airport, he will straightway move to Balakote area of Poonch in private helicopter and interact with the affected families.
After returning from Poonch, the AICC leader will have interaction with Panchayat representatives besides former Corporators and Councillors associated with the party from 12.30 pm onwards. Mr Gandhi will convene a meeting of the State Congress executive including heads of all the frontal organizations at private Community Hall, near Best Price complex at Paloura at 3.30 pm. He may speak to the media after meeting. Several delegations would meet him at State Guest House in the evening. Mr Gandhi will have night stay at Jammu.
Next morning, AICC leader would fly to Srinagar and meet different delegations during the day at Pampore and other areas. He will address gathering at Sopore during noon. Then he would convene a meeting of party legislators/ executive committee members from Kashmir and Ladakh in the afternoon. Several delegations would meet Mr Gandhi in the evening. He will stay at Srinagar for night and then return to Union capital on August 28. Mr Gandhi is unlikely to visit Kargil and Leh as already announced by the party leaders here.
