SURAT (GUJARAT), Nov 14: Union Minister and BJP Co-Incharge of Gujarat Assembly Election, Dr Jitendra Singh said here today that Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi is learning many things from Gujarat and by the end of the election process, even though the Congress Party may not gain electorally, but Rahul Gandhi may come out wiser from this learning experience.
Dr Jitendra Singh was responding to queries from media persons who asked him for his view on Rahul Gandhi’s advice to his party workers that they should speak “respectfully” about Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, Rahul Gandhi’s inference is inspired by his Gujarat experience of last two months which has taught him that any unsavoury or disrespectful reference to Narendra Modi is strongly disliked and detested by the people of India and the people of Gujarat.
In response to another query about Rahul Gandhi’s frequent visits to different temples in Gujarat, Dr Jitendra Singh said, there is nothing wrong if the Congress Vice President has learnt to find solace in Hindu temples, but hoped that Rahul Gandhi will continue his visits to Hindu temples even after the completion of the election process. He said, as for BJP Karyakartas, a visit to a temple is not an election – time activity, but it is part of his 24×7 commitment to his faith.
Reiterating his contention that each Gujarat visit by Rahul Gandhi consolidates BJP, Dr Jitendra Singh said, the more aggressively the Congress leadership and its ill-found ally Hardik Patel compaign against the BJP, the more inadvertently they expose themselves before the people of Gujarat and this gives an opportunity to the voter to decide who stands where.
Earlier, this morning, Dr Jitendra Singh held a meeting with the representatives of different cooperative bodies at the office complex of Sumul Milk Cooperative, one of the country’s oldest Dairy cooperatives to have been established way back in 1952.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, out of nearly 10 lakh cooperative members in the area, more than half are strongly committed to BJP and their outreach touches practically every Gujarat household, because of milk and milk products being a staple diet in the region.
During these meetings, Dr Jitendra Singh was accompanied by Gujarat State Cooperative Minister Ishwarbhai Patel, Member of Parliament Om Birla, Chairman “Sumul” Rajendra Pathak, BJP District Presidents of Surat and Surat Mahanagar as well as other senior Party leaders.
