Jammu : Against the backdrop of tension along Indo-Pak border, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday arrived in Balakot and met the people affected by the Pakistani troops’ shelling.
Rahul is on a three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir from Wednesday.
He will fly the Balakot area of Poonch district where six persons have died and dozens were injured due to Pakistan firing on August 15.
He will also meet families of the victims and interact with the affected population of the border belts.
After returning from Poonch, Gandhi will meet the representatives of different sections of society besides addressing a Panchayat Conference of the party for Jammu province.
Rahul will also visit Kashmir and Ladakh regions during his three-day visit. (Agencies)
