SIE Newsletter released

JAMMU, June 5: Laying stress on providing quality education to the students, Director School Education, Jammu, G A Qureshi today directed the State Institute of Education (SIE) and DIETs to leave no stone unturned to build the capacity of the teachers by way of regular trainings.
Addressing a function after releasing SIE Newsletter here this afternoon, Mr Qureshi said, “the role of SIE and DIEts is most important in order to achieve the objective of providing quality education to the students as only these institutes can build the capacity of the teachers”.
“In the present competitive scenario, the students getting education in Government institutions should not lag behind and in order to provide them education at par with national level the teachers are also required to update their knowledge. Teachers have to keep on learning as the same is imperative in the vast changing scenario in the education field”, he said while disclosing that it was only with the motive of meeting the requirement of the Primary, Middle and High Schools that 100 per cent adoption scheme was framed.
“Now, the Principals of the Higher Secondary Schools are responsible for providing academic support to the feeding High Schools and Headmasters of the High Schools have been made accountable for extending support to the Middle and Primary Schools”, Mr Qureshi said, adding “in order to regularly test the caliber of the students, we have introduced the weekly tests in each subject. In this way we are zeroing in on the week students and then making efforts to bring them at par with other students”.
He directed the SIE to furnish report to the Directorate as to how many schools have set up learning corners and why others were lacking on this front.
Earlier, Mr Qureshi released the SIE newsletter and lauded Joint Director (Trgs)/ Principal SIE Jammu and his staff for bringing out the newsletter and establishing a learning corner in the Institute.
Joint Director (Trg)/ Principal SIE Jammu, A C Aima highlighted the features of the newsletter that reflect various activities undertaken by SIE and all the DIETs of Jammu division in the field of teacher-training, research and development.
Shashi Prabha, Joint Director, Directorate of School Education, Jammu, P K Padha, Field Advisor, Principals of all DIETs of Jammu Division and Principals of Higher Secondary Schools were present on the occasion.
