JAMMU, May 4: Abdul Qayoom Wani, Chairman Teachers Forum and president of Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC), today said that the time bound promotion in favour of KAS officers was a well come step taken by the State Government but ignoring other gazetted cadres, especially Plus 2 Lecturers was a brazen injustice.
In a press statement, Wani said that while resolving the issues of employees, the dual standards adopted by the Government is unfortunate and will never be accepted by the EJAC. He stressed that all the gazetted cadres of every department, including Plus 2 Lecturers of School Education Department deserve the benefits of time bound promotion. “We are not against the time bound promotion of KAS officers but putting other officers working in gazetted cadre under stagnation adversely affects the work culture in the State,” he explained and urged upon the Government to implement the Running Grade benefits to all the officers working in gazetted cadre in the State.
He also urged upon the Chief Minister, Finance Minister and Chief Secretary to personally intervene into the matter so that this genuine issue be resolved amicably to avoid any sort of confrontation.
