JAMMU, Mar 3: A Youth Congress delegation led by PYC vice president Pankaj Basotra called on top AICC leader Ghulam Nabi Azad (LOP in RS) and discussed organisational affairs.
Basotra was accompanied by PYC general secretaries- Chetan Wanchoo, Nimrandeep Singh, secretaries -Birender Pratap Singh, Nakul Sharma, Ankush Raina, DCC general secretary Anoop Gupta, DYC president Samba Sushil Bhagat, AYC presidents Rishab Sharma and Sumit Bhagat. The Youth Congress leaders discussed various political and party issues in the meeting.
The PYC leaders apprised the Mr Azad about the prevailing situation in the State and also discussed the issues about forthcoming Parliamentary elections. The youth pleaded for the steps to be taken which will give strength to the party organisation, which will go a long way in fighting the ensuing elections in the State.
They further appealed Azad to take over the affairs of the Congress party in the state personally so that the forthcoming elections can be fought under his leadership, as only he is the prominent face of Congress party and the people of the state have pinned high hopes on him because they have seen his performance and potential as Chief Minister of the State which was remarkable.
Azad gave patient hearing to the demands of youth leaders and assured them that suitable steps will be taken very soon in this regard. He further exhorted the Youth Congress leaders to work hard for the forthcoming elections and gain confidence of the people by explaining achievements of the Congress party when it was in power.
