JAMMU, Mar 8: J&K People’s Welfare Society (PWS) has expressed grave concern over the hike in bus fare by private schools in J&K and strongly criticised this arbitrary decision which it said is totally unjustifiable .
In a statement Society chairman, Mir Ghulam Rasool Batwani today said that under what rules the private schools are going to enhance the bus fare for the children and the same is not acceptable to their parents at all. The Society has made an appeal to Government to intervene in the matter and regulate the bus fare for the students.
It said there is no logic in enhancing bus fare at the highest rate which the parents of these children are not able to pay. The fare announced by the private schools is very high and the Government should take the cognisance of the same, the society said, adding that who has given authority to private schools to announce the bus fare itself which is the work of the transport authorities.
The Society warned that the parents will be forced to launch agitation in case the Government failed to regulate the bus fare for the private schools.
