SRINAGAR, Aug 29: Executive members of central body of Private Schools Association, led by State Coordinator Ajay Gupta, met with Justice (Retd.)Imtiyaz Hussain, Chairman of Fee Fixation Committee of private educational institution in his office at Hyderpora in Srinagar for giving inputs on fee fixation policy.
This meeting was organized by Shaleen Kabra, Commissioner/ Secretary School Education Department and Member Secretary, Committee for Fixation of Fee Structure.
Justice (Retd) Imtiyaz Hussain briefed the members that State Government has started its work to fix fee for all schools affiliated with JKBOSE/CBSE/ICSE etc functioning in the J&K State. He said imparting of education is essentially charitable in nature but some schools were charging extra amount from the parents and have commercialized the education for their personal benefits only.
Executive members of the PSA explained the Chairman that the State Government did nothing for promotion of this charity work and never provided any type of loan at cheaper rates or financial aid to the private schools, which are being run by the educated unemployed who had used their ancestral property & had borrowed capital for establishing the low budget schools.
They stressed that inspite of putting restrictions on low budget private schools, Government should tighten the noose around owners of coaching centers, tuition centers, tutorial etc who are charging 100 percent more than low budget private schools with out providing basic facilities to the students.
