JAMMU, Nov 7: Demanding severe punishment to the Jammu and Kashmir Bank looters, BJP J&K spokesperson, Altaf Thakur said that thousands of crores of rupees were siphoned by some influential families in nexus with some top employees and former J&K Bank Chairman in last over a decade.
Thakur accused that some of the corrupt J&K Bank employees have played an active role in looting the public money by sanctioning huge amounts as loan against some influential people. “These people took the loan in hundreds of crores of rupees, but didn’t return the same to the bank,” he said.
Appealing Lt Governor led administration to deal strictly with these fraud people involved in Bank scams and recover the money from them.
“Most of the loans were sanctioned under the patronage of some political leaders and former bank Chairman- must be dealt strictly,” he said.
Thakur further said that these influential fraudsters have declared their business establishments as non-performing assets, which must be probed properly. He added that people have lost the faith on local political parties here due to massive corruption practices and frauds. “To restore the faith on Government run institutions and J&K Bank, Government must act tough against these fraudsters and punish them publically,” he demanded.
