JAMMU, Apr 29: Public is suffering due to the indifferent attitude of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) stated Sanjay Kumar Baru, senior BJP leader and JMC Councilor from Ward No. 41 during the tour of Akhnoor road from Kamla Palace road to Paloura BSF Market along with BJP district general secretary, Karan Sharma, president Paloura Market, Ashok Singh and Youth Welfare Committee, Wazir Lane falling under Jammu West Assembly constituency.
Sanjay Kumar Baru said that general public is suffering badly due to the indifferent and callus approach of the personnel involved in the ongoing project for four-laning of Jammu Akhnoor road.
He regretted that the various development projects especially for the widening of the roads have been taken up in the BJP led Centre Government but the callous approach of the involved officers and concerned contractors is causing inconvenience to the commuters of the main as well as smaller roads lined with the main highway.
He pointed out that the connectivity of the smaller roads with the main road is not being taken care of. The connectivity ramp or slopes are not concreted but only temporarily build up with the heaps of sand or gravel and are highly sloped unable to be climbed up by the two -wheeler of even four wheeler. This misadventure of engineering by the concerned authorities is causing daily mishaps, he added.
BJP leader pointed out that the issue has been brought up in front of senior concerned authorities but they are not listening and even verbally refused. “Are they waiting for some big mishap or loss of human lives?” he questioned.
Sanjay Baru also raised the issue of the encroachments of the service lanes along the newly constructed road especially near the markets like BSF, Ploura. He said that isn’t it wise to remove the encroachments now rather than facing agitations in future?.
Raman Koushal, Mandeep Singh lovely, Dalip Mitas and locals were also present during the tour.
