PSO of outgoing ADC arrested for theft

UDHAMPUR, May 9: Police today arrested a Personal Security Officer (PSO) of outgoing Additional District Development Commissioner Ramban Inder Singh on charges of theft in Ramnagar.
The accused, identified as Pritam Singh (SPO number 724/SPO) of Ramban district, was found to be the kingpin in the case of theft of iron plates worth Rs 2 lakh, registered with Ramnagar police station.
He had fled away leaving behind his service weapon and other belongings after police started conducting raids to trace his whereabouts in Jammu, Udhampur, Doda, Ramban and Reasi districts. He was arrested today by a team of Ramnagar Police Station.
According to Police, other five accused in the case, identified as Maroof of Ramban, Arshad of Gandoh, Zulfiqar of Ramban, Shehjad Hussain of Batote and Noorani of Parnote were already arrested.
The SPO is being interrogated to find out whether this gang of burglars was involved in other theft cases or not.
Interrogation of the accused revealed that SPO Pritam Singh had hired a private vehicle from Ramban after being contacted by one Arshad Hussain of Darai Garh Ramnagar, came to Ramnagar along with vehicle during midnight, committed theft along with co-accused and shifted the stolen property to Batote during the same night.
