*Directs for delivery of supply orders in one week

JAMMU, Feb 22: Principal Secretary to Government, Industries and Commerce Department Navin K. Choudhary, today asked J&K SICOP to ensure the delivery of supply orders in maximum one week time as he reviewed the performance of the Corporation at a meeting of the management functionaries.
The meeting was attended by Special Secretary I&C Department Atul Sharma, Managing Director SICOP and Sacheen Verma and Financial Advisor SICOP.
MD SICOP gave a brief resume about various activities being performed by the Corporation. It was informed that the Corporation achieved a composite turnover of Rs. 563.38 crore ending January, 2019 against the target of Rs. 650 crore set for FY 2018-19. The MD SICOP further informed the meeting that the turnover fixed for 2018-19 will be achieved.
After taking all factors into consideration, the Principal Secretary directed that the Corporation should speed up execution of civil deposit works timely and get statutory audit of the Corporation completed upto the year 2017-18 immediately.
The Principal Secretary further impressed upon MD SICOP to make rational use of man-power and explore the possibility of outsourcing the men and machinery, wherever possible.
The depots of the Corporation were ordered to be brought under the CCTV surveillance. For providing prompt service to the Government Departments/SSI Units, it was ordered that all the supply orders received by the Corporation be placed with the SSI Units for execution within a period of seven days. Lastly SICOP was asked to explore the possibility of marketing/selling the cement being manufactured by J&K Cements Ltd.
Later, the Principal Secretary reviewed the performance of the Geology and Mining Department and issued a string of instructions to realize the mineral potential in the State.
