Provide relief to flood affected people: Manohar

JAMMU, July 12: Former Minister and president DCC Kathua, Dr Manohar Lal today showed serious concern and urged district & LG administration to provide immediate relief and compensation to the people affected due to flash floods in river Ujh in district Kathua.
While speaking Dr Sharma said since July 5 water is continuously rising in river Ujh due to which today around 1100 kanals of cultivated land with crops has been washed away thus making lives of affected persons a miserable. After talking with the Satpaul Bhagat (Sarpanch) and other residents of village Chak Chabbey he was informed the house belonging to Noor Hussain was completely washed away where as others belonging to Jagdish Singh, Puran Chand & Ali Mohammed has suffered severe damages and urged administration to provide immediate relief to affected people.
Further Dr Sharma requested administration to prepare DPR immediately for concrete protection wall and work be finished on war footing basis so that damages to lives and properties be avoided in near future.
