LEH, Dec 31: In order to discuss and plan the communication facilities during next year’s Kalachakra sermon in Jivetsal Choglamsar, the Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Leh Rigzin Spalbar took an important meeting with BSNL, Leh headed by TDM, Punchok Dorjey and engineers of BSNL in his office chamber today.
Chairing the meeting, CEC said that in view of expected 1.50 to 2 lakh congregation of devotees in next year Kalachakra, the communication facilities including mobile, landline and internet services should be trustworthy and uninterrupted in Leh and surrounding villages especially around Jivetsal Choglamsar which will not only help organizers tremendously but also provide smooth communication services to general public.
Spalbar directed TDM, Leh to prepare a holistic plan of communication for Kalachakra 2014 in current winter season with provision to provide internet facilities for Media Centres at Jivetsal so that their plan could be followed and placed timely and ensure that Council will pursue higher authorities including CGM J&K for required equipment, if needed. He also directed TDM to make a provision for Telephone Booth facilities in and around Jivetsal and Sabu Thang areas which would be used by devotees who don’t have mobile and also instructed to strengthen mobile and landline services in Likir village where the 14th Dalai Lama is scheduled to stay at Likir Monastery before Kalachakra sermon.
The TDM, Leh Punchok Dorjey informed the meeting that present telecommunication services in Leh comparing last few years is good and assured all-out support from BSNL during Kalachakra sermon. He also informed that besides providing 4 to 5 temporary mobile towers around Jivetsal the mobile towers around Choglamsar will also be strengthened during sermon for smooth mobile service.
