MENDHAR, Sept 8: The people held protests against PHE authorities near TCP Mendhar and Pathana Teer village of Mendhar sub division today.
The people from Ward No. 1 and 2 of Mendhar town assembled on Mendhar-Poonch road near TCP and raised barricades. They started protest against PHE department for its failure to provide adequate water supply in these wards. They alleged that for the last one week, the water supply has been badly hit in the area and the concerned field staff was also informed but they failed to improve the supply.
Later, SDPO Shahid Nahim and AEE PHE reached there and they assured the public to improve the supply. The traffic remained suspended for two hours on the road.
Similar protest was held at Pathana Teer by the people from Manja Kher village. The people raised slogans against PHE authorities and alleged that some miscreants have damaged the water supply pipes and even pulled away a few, affecting the supplies to nearly 50 families in the area.
