Srinagar, June 7: People in Sogam area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district today protested against the death of a woman allegedly due to medical negligence of staff at Sub-District Hospital Sogam.
Rubeena Akther from Devar village was brought to the hospital last evening and she gave birth to a baby boy but her condition worsened and she later died.
Rubeena’s husband Imtiaz Ahmad Khan said that there was no gynecologist in the hospital and her wife was attended by a medical assistant and a nurse. He said that they could not handle her properly leading to her death.
Relatives of Rubeena protested at the hospital demanding stern action against the hospital authorities.
