Protesting FMPHWs suspend fast unto death

KATHUA, July 22: On the assurance of Director Health Service Jammu for revocation of transfer order, the protesting Female Multi-Purpose Health Workers suspended  their fast unto death, here today.
The Director along with president of  Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation, Sushil Sudan and  CMO Kathua offered juice to the protesting FMPHWs.
Earlier, Sushil Sudan along with Jarnail Choudhary, working president of Jammu Kashmir Pharmacist  Association, visited CMO Office Kathua where FMPHWs were  on fast unto death for release of their salaries for more than 16 to 18 months, besides, revocation of transfer orders of  FMPHWs who have been sent to far flung areas of District Kathua thus victimizing them.
Meanwhile, Director Health Services Jammu, Dr  Baljeet Pathania also reached the venue of strike and  after great persuasion with the striking employees, he assured that the demands of FMPHWs regarding revocation of transfer orders  will be done within 5 to 6 days.
Regarding other demand of salary under 2211 head, the Director  assured that he would  himself take up the matter with the concerned authorities for the same.
Among others,   Balkar Singh and Surinder Sharma, president and general secretary JKMEF Kathua respectively,  Rajesh Bala, president FMPHWs District Kathua, Rama Devi and  Neelam Kumari were also present on the occasion.
