RAJOURI, Apr 19: The people from one community today held strong protest and blocked Rajouri-Budhal road at Palma after sacrilegious act .
The protesters raised barricades on  the road and disrupted movement  of traffic for about two hours, demanding action against the accused involved in the anti-social and criminal act. The protesting people  alleged that some  miscreants entered the cattle-shed of  one Rattan Lal at Palma last night and resorted to sacrilegious act. They also extensively damaged the private parts of the milch animal.
In the morning when the family came to know about the matter, they narrated the matter to the neighbours. Upon this,  the people turned furious and filled with great anger.  A large number of villagers taking serious note of the matter came out on Rajouri-Budhal  road at around 9 am and  stalled the movement of vehicles.  They started protest raising slogans against administration and demanded that accused involved in hurting religious sentiments of one community and indulging in criminal act be placed behind the bars.
The district administration sensing  communal tension deployed security force men in the area. SSP and ADC Rajouri also reached there after some time. After long discussion with the protesting people,  they managed to pacify them. They assured that an inquiry would be conducted and accused will be arrested shortly. Then people cleared the road.
Meanwhile, the police claimed to  have arrested three suspects  in this connection. They included a domestic servant of  the family. They are identified as Mohd Irshad and Abdul Majid from  Peerhi and Mohd Shahzad from Palma. Police has registered a case in this connection.
