The rally passed through main bazaars of Jammu city and culminated at Indira Chowk Jammu. Hundreds of people belonging to OBC community participated in the rally and while raising slogans demanded revocation of erstwhile J&K-State Reservation Act-2004 and implementation of Central Reservation Policy in J&K UT, thus providing 27% reservation to OBCs in J&K-UT Government Services as per Supreme Court Judgement dated 16.11.1992 on Mandal Commission report.

The protesting OBC people were also demanding implementation of political reservation for OBC’s, conducting Census-2021 on caste basis with a separate column for OBC’s, simplification of procedure for issuance of OSC/OBC certificate, issuance of OBC certificate instead of OSC certificate, continuation of Reservation in Promotion for SC, ST and OBC, enhancement of creamy layer from 8 lakh to 15 lakh, etc.
Addressing the protesters, Mohan Lal Pawar, general secretary of OBC Mahasabha disclosed that the OBC masses residing in J&K having 42% population keeping in view 32% as per census-1931 have been kept away from their fundamental constitutional rights of 27% reservation in the J&K Government services by the erstwhile State rulers since independence of the country and now by the Union Government and J&K UT Government.
He said now when J&K state has become UT and all the Central laws are applicable to Jammu & Kashmir, there is no logic of not implementing Central Reservation Policy in J&K and depriving the J&K OBCs from their right of 27 % reservation in Government jobs in the UT.
Raj Kumar Chalotra (vice-president AIBCU), Mohd Shabir (president, Dhobi Welfare Central Committee) and Gurpreet Dogra (youth leader of OBC Mahasabha) also addressed the gathering and appealed Prime Minister Narendra Modi to consider their demands as the Reservation provided by Baba Sahib Ambedkar in the Indian constitution vide article 14, 15, 16, 340, 341 is the only way of development of this segment if it is properly implemented.
The rally was led by Kasturi Lal Basotra, chairman of OBC Mahasabha along with Murari Lal Balgotra, (president All J&K Kashya Rajput Sabha), Rajinder Kumer Sikka (president, All J&K Sain Samaj), Rehamdeen Malik (president Teeli community), Shashi Verma (president, Pardesh Vishwakarma Sabha), Ajudhiya Kumar Manawa (president Parjapati Kumhar Sabha) and others.
