RAJOURI, May 10: The people from Kheora and adjoining localities of Rajouri town blocked Rajouri-Thannamandi road and held protest demonstration against PHE authorities here today.
A large number of people from the area came out on the road at Kheora at around 3.30 pm today and started protest demonstration against local PHE authorities for their failure to provide drinking water to the public in the town. They alleged that water supply to the area was erratic and people were facing lot of hardships during these hot summer days.
The protesting public blocked the road by raising barricades and stalled the movement of vehicles. Later, SHO (Prob), Sudhanshu Verma along with some policemen arrived at the site and pacified the protesting people. On the assurance of SHO, the people then lifted dharna from the road and allowed movement of vehicles.
