JAMMU, Mar 8: The protest launched by 45 aggrieved displaced youth selected under PM package over a decade back and were not given the appointment orders by the concerned agency till date entered 145th day today near Press Club here.
Reiterating their demand the protestors urged the Government to issue the appointment orders in their favour on the same analogy on which the other candidates were selected earlier who also fall in their category. Expressing surprise over non issuance of appointment orders in their favour, they said there was no justification of not issuing the appointment orders when other candidates falling in their category were selected and they were serving in Valley for many years now.
Showing concern over the Government’s apathy towards them the protesting youth said that they had left their private sector jobs since with the hope to serve in Kashmir Valley and pave way for the return and rehabilitation of displaced minorities who were forced to leave Kashmir over 31 years back but all their hopes dashed to ground as the concerned authorities failed to issue orders in their favour till date.
The protesting candidates said that many of them are at the verge of over age and hence they could not apply for new posts under the package. With Government’s apathy their future is at stake now. They said after leaving their private sector jobs they have become totally dependent on their old age parents for whom it is totally difficult to feed them now.
Reiterating their appeal to Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha the protestors sought his immediate intervention in the matter.
