Protest held against JMC for shortening road’s width

JAMMU, Aug 11: Traders and residents of Ward 16 today staged protest rally against Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) for shortening the road’s width of State Motor Garage and Army Defence road, here today.
The protest rally was organised under the leadership of Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) president, Sunil Dimple wherein protesters were chanting slogans against the Government as well as JMC Commissioner and local Councillor.
The protestors demanded resignation of JMC Mayor and Councillor of Ward 16 and appealed the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha to immediately stop the project as people are totally against this project.
Sunil Dimple said that the West Assembly Constituency was the most backward and undeveloped Constituency of the Jammu city as all the roads, lanes and drains were in dilapidated condition since long times and nobody in the Corporation seems bothered about it.
The protestors gave 72 hours ultimatum to JMC for stopping the project, otherwise they will block Amphalla-Janipur road and the JMC will be responsible for that.
Prem Sharma, Rajinder Singh, CP Singh, Gian Singh, Tirath Ram Sharma, Parmveer Singh, Sunil Dev Singh, Vikas Mengi, Satish Sharma and many others were part of the protest rally.
