UDHAMPUR, Apr 2: Locals continued their protest on the 9th day today against opening of a wine shop near Manthal National Highway in Tikri.
A large number of men and women today joined the protest and raised slogans against opening of wine shop in Manthal.
The locals alleged that on March 30 Chief Secretary, BR Sharma along with Director General of Police, K Rajendra met with agitating people and assured that their demand would be positively considered but no positive action was seen till now.
While speaking, protesting women said that opening of wine shop will bring a negative impact on the young generation and children’s future will be in the dark and spoil the healthy atmosphere of the society.
Another protester said that the problems going to be surfaced after opening of the wine shop in their area were brought into the notice of locals leaders and concerned officers, but nothing was done by them, which forced them to come on roads. She said that at any cost the people will not allow the opening of wine shops in their area.
