JAMMU, Aug 7: The protest demonstrations throughout Jammu region continued for the second consecutive day today against the killing of five soldiers by Pakistani Army in Poonch sector yesterday.
The BJP activists of Raipur Domana Mandal held a massive demonstration at Muthi and blocked Akhnoor road resulting into a huge traffic jam on this busy road.
The protestors shouted slogans against Pakistan and inactive UPA Government at Delhi. They accused the UPA Government for its failure in containing cross border terrorism and also torched the Pakistani flag and effigy of Prime Minister of India, Dr Manmohan Singh.
The protest demonstration was led by senior BJP leader and former MLA, Bali Bhagat while among others it was addressed by ex-Corporator Omi Khajuria and other party leaders Mukesh Sharma, Narinder Singh and Hans Raj Manhas.
Another demonstration was held by advocates of J&K Bar, Jammu at High Court road, Janipur. A large number of members of Bar participated in the demonstration. The protestors also blocked the Janipur road and stopped the vehicular traffic for over two hours on this busy road. They torched the effigy of Pakistani army.
Addressing the protestors Gurdeep Singh Pandey president Jammu and Kashmir Sharnarti Action Committee expressed his grief and sorrow over the killing of brave soldiers by Pak army in ambush. He said these soldiers laid down their lives for the nation and demanded that India should pay Pakistan in the same coin. Umesh Sharma while addressing the demonstration also condemned the killings.
Another protest was held by youth Congress activists at Press Club here who burnt the effigy of Pakistan. The protest was led by Manjit Singh, State general secretary, Pradesh Youth Congress. While addressing the protestors Manjit Singh expressed his deep concern over unprovoked firing from across the border by Pak Army. He said the India should deal strongly with Pakistan.
Kandi Ekta Manch held a protest demonstration at Rajbagh National Highway in Kathua district today against the killing of five soldiers by Pakistani Army in border area of Poonch district. The protestors torched the flag of Pakistan.
Addressing the protestors president of the Manch, Ashok Jasrotia said that Pakistan has crossed all limits so India should snap all diplomatic ties with neighboring country and pay the enemy in the same coin.
BJYM held a protest demonstration at Udhampur which was led by its president Ramnik Sharma and city president Rohit Sharma. The demonstration was also addressed by senior party leader Pawan Gupta and the protestors torched the effigy of Pakistan and its flag.
BJP and ABVP activists held demonstrations in Reasi town today against the Pakistan and its troops for killing five Indian soldiers in Poonch Sector yesterday.
The BJP protest was led by Ajay Nanda district president while ABVP protest was led by Sachdev Singh district president of the organization Reasi.
Youth Congress leader Sumeet Singh led a demonstration of the party activists at Udhampur today to protest against the killing of five Indian soldiers by Pakistani troops. The protestors accused Pakistan of violating all international laws and conventions.
Protest demonstrations were held by people at all the townships of Kathua district including at district headquarter Kathua and Hiranagar and Dayalachak towns against the killing of five Indian soldiers by Pak troops in Poonch sector yesterday.
Former Union Minister and MLA Jammu West, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta has also strongly condemned the killing of five Indian soldiers by Pakistani Army.
In a statement issued here, today he cautioned the Government that the happenings in North East and on LoC should not be taken casually as all this could be a prelude for bigger design to harm India and try to internationalize the so called Kashmir issue.
Prof Gupta said that cross border terror has always been the part of Pakistani policy not withstanding their denial about the terrorist acts on Indian soil. Pakistan has now been exposed fully that the terrorist training camps exist on its soil, he added.
J&K Pradesh Congress Committee has also strongly condemned the audacious and provocative attack by Pakistani troops in the Poonch Sector yesterday in which five India soldiers were killed.
A meeting of PCC under the chairmanship of senior vice president of the Party Dharam Paul Sharma was held here today in which the leaders condemned the attack and described it an audacious and provocative act by Pakistani troops who entered Indian territory along the Line of Control in Poonch Sector yesterday and ambushed a patrolling party in which five Indian soldiers were killed.
J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu in its meeting here today chaired by its president, M K Bharadwaj has also strongly condemned the cowardice and deceitful acts of Pakistani forces in which five Indian soldier’s attained martyrdom. The Bar Association has appealed the Union Government to take stern action against such incidents which can spark the already volatile and charged atmosphere at the borders both with Pakistan and China by putting diplomatic and international pressure.
A meeting of All State Kashmir Pandit Conference (ASKPC) was held here today under the chairmanship of H L Chatta in which the killing of five Indian soldiers by Pakistani troops in ambush was strongly condemned.
The meeting demanded that India should act strongly and make Pakistan to realize that if it will not stop its anti India tirade it will have to face serious consequences.
Senior vice president, ASKPC, R K Raina said that Pakistan has violated all norms and international conventions and India should not tolerate such misadventures by Pakistan in future but pay the enemy in the same coin. He demanded that Pakistan be declared a terrorist country.
All J&K Sikh Unity Forum has also strongly condemned the killing of five Indian soldiers in Poonch Sector by Pakistani troops yesterday.
The Forum leaders S Gurdeep Singh, S Nirmal Singh, S Tijender Singh, S Gurmeet Sing and others said that Pakistani army was repeatedly violating the cease fire and this way posing a grave threat to peace in the Sub Continent. It warned the Pakistan not to test the patience of Indian army.
