SRINAGAR, Feb 1: Protest erupted at Sub District Hospital (SDH) Sopore in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district after a woman suffering from Asthama died allegedly due to medical negligence.
The deceased has been identified as Afshana Bashir was admitted to SDH Sopore for Asthama ailment but she breathed her last today, triggering protest by his family members and other relatives.
“Doctors assured us that the condition of patient is normal. But how come she died then? This is because of negligence of doctors and reason for her death,” said her son, Junaid Bashir. The protesters demanded probe into the death of the woman.
The SDH Sopore officials, however, denied the charge of family. “Since last evening patient was under treatment here and was treated… the patient’s condition was also stable but nobody can stop the God’s will. The family’s anger is genuine as they have lost their family member” said Block Medical Officer, Dr Sameer Ahmed.
