Scores of resident of the area including men, women and children assembled at Press Colony and blocked the traffic for more than an hour on M A Road. They were carrying banners and placards seeking justice and immediate arrest of the murderers.
The family members blamed police of inaction and said that some officials are trying to hush up the case. They alleged that some police officers are trying to sabotage the probe.
They staged a sit-in on the main road and even manhandled some of the policemen. It was only after an hour that police managed to pacify the protesters who later dispersed peacefully.
In August this year Zahid, a resident of Padshahi Bagh went missing and his body was fished out from river Jehlum near Lal Ded Hospital days later. His family said the body carried visible torture marks which indicated that Zahid was murdered.
