VIJAYPUR, Nov 18: A massive protest demonstration was today staged by the people for the deplorable condition of Ramgarh-Vijaypur border road in district Samba.
The protest was led by former minister and Samba District Congress, president, Manjit Singh. The protesters organized demonstration on the main border road of Ramgarh-Vijaypur for its bad condition leading to suffering of poor farmers.
“A long portion of 10 km road has been in bad condition, but the PWD department is unmoved from last two years. They have not black topped the road and avoided public concerns despite repeated request,” said Manjit Singh, while speaking to the protesters.
Singh said that the Government should ensure black topping of the road. “Border residents have to pass though this road which is in worse condition. Many deputations met the PWD officials. But, there is no action from their side to redress the concerns,” Manjit Singh said.
He said that the Government should not test patience of the people, and “If road is not made motorable with back-topping, they will be compelled to hold demonstrations and launch proper agitation.”
