JAMMU, July 16: The locals of Talab Tillo here today staged a protest demonstration against the increase in number of unauthorized vendors in the area and rise in number of theft and snatching cases.
The protesters claimed that these vendors don’t have any identity card or Rehri License and most of these are active near fourth Tawi Bridge where cases of snatching have been increased.
“These illegal vendors are also responsible for traffic jams in Jammu and their involvement in illegal activities like narcotic smuggling also can’t be ruled out.
The protesters urged upon the law enforcement authorities to take a cognizance of this development and nip the evil in the bud.
Senior BJP leader and JMC Councillor of Ward number 41, Sanjay Baru visited the protesters and assured that their concern shall be taken to the relevant quarters for redressal.
He said that a resolution by him has already been passed by General House Meeting of JMC to allot Rehari Licenses to the locals so that unemployment can be controlled to some extents.
